Top 10 to 20 things to do and see on Manhattan Island New York
There are so many top things to do or see on Manhattan Island, New York that we started with 10 but had to tell you about 20.
Manhattan Island is the most densely populated city in the USA. It is divided into regions (Downtown/Lower, Midtown and Uptown/Upper) then cut down the center by 5th Avenue which separates it into the East (East River) and the West (Hudson River) sides. When I think of Manhattan I think of the Financial center of the world (not just our country). It not only houses the top two Stock Market exchanges (New York and the NASDAQ), but it houses the highest real estate prices in the world.
It’s known as the “City that never Sleeps” however, I would have to disagree with that as I’ve lived in Las Vegas and Las Vegas is alive 24 hours a day. New York I found is packed with a lot to do, but at a certain point in the night restaurants/bars, etc. do close down for the night (2am for the bars). Las Vegas does not. So I’m going to call New York, by its other nickname, “The Big Apple”. In 1971, New York put together a campaign calling itself just that “The Big Apple” in order to attract tourists”. Which obviously was a success. It also holds the New York Harbor (the busiest in the world).
